One of Kent's historic castles, which is rarely open to the public, will open its doors for a very exclusive open air theatre performance this summer.
Allington Castle will host a performance of the Changeling Theatre’s 20th anniversary tour on Saturday, July 22 - with only 100 tickets going on sale.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet will be staged, with all proceeds going to the Robin Corbett Award for Prisoner Rehabilitation, which awards funds to charities to help ex-offenders get back into the job market.
It is the second year that the theatre company has supported the charity with a show at the castle.
Changeling has also arranged with Redhill Farm Estate to give audience members a glass of their finest bubbly.
Artistic director Rob Forknall said: “We are delighted to be back in Allington Castle this year following our sold out run in 2016. Our great thanks go to Sir Robert Worcester for opening his doors for us again. We’re particularly honoured to be able to work with Lady Val Corbett to help fundraise for the Robin Corbett Award and with Henry Boorman of Redhill Farm Estate who is generously offering tasters of his local bubbly to our audience. It’s going to be a great night!”
Tickets are £35. To book visit changeling-theatre.com/tickets
The tour plays at venues across Kent from Friday, June 30 to Wednesday, August 30, including Margate seafront and Biddenden Vineyard, to historic settings such as Leeds Castle, Dover Castle and Boughton Monchelsea Place.
