Those living in and around Dover are especially in luck.
The Dover District Leisure Centre’s High Places Clip ‘n Climb activity is the only one of its kind in the area and a brilliant way for mums and dads in South East Kent to not only keep the children entertained but also burning off any excess sugar.
The Clip ‘n Climb activity is open between 9am and 7pm.
“Clip ‘n Climb is fantastic and can help children in a number of different ways,” said Ryan Bacmeister, who is Clip ‘n Climb manager.
“Apart from the obvious fitness benefits in which they can work on building muscle strength, it also tests agility, balance and helps develop problem solving among them which in turn helps strengthen their confidence.
“These children have to think before scaling these challenging walls and this is hugely important for their development. I also love Clip ‘n Climb because it is a sport that is not competitive.”
And you’re never too young to start. Clip ‘n Climb is a unique and extraordinary climbing experience for climbers of all ages (four and up) and abilities.
The centre’s colourful arena for Clip ‘n Climb features 16 impressive fun-themed climbing experiences as well as 20 individual climbing lines up to a maximum height of 7.5m, each boasting striking designs.
The minimum height for the 'Leap of Faith' is 1.2m.
The area can also be used for birthday parties so kids can enjoy a brilliant climbing adventure party.
Prices start at £10 a child for a safety briefing and 45 minute climbing session.
But it’s not just about climbing at the impressive new centre in Whitfield, Dover which is part of a £26 million investment from the local council.

Other impressive facilities include Kent’s first accessible Swim England-certified eight-lane, short course championship swimming pool. At a length of 25m, the new pool boasts starting platforms, automatic timing touchpads, electronic scoreboards as well as anti-turbulence lane ropes.
The pool has a surrounding seating capacity for up to 250 people as well as a smaller 15m teaching pool with an alterable depth.
There are plenty of opportunities for public swimming with the pool opening between 6am and 10pm on weekdays.
Away from the pool, members can relax in the sauna and steam room or engage in some rigorous activities in the four-court sports hall, a 120-station gym and fitness suite, studios for aerobics and group cycling and two squash courts which can also accommodate spectators.
Those interested in outdoors sports like football can also weigh in at the new centre courtesy of the two 3G outdoor and floodlit five-a-side pitches.
