Jason Donovan has had to postpone a date in Kent as part of his Amazing Midlife Crisis tour.
The Australian singer had been due to play the Theatre Royal Margate on Thursday, November 23, but in a statement issued today he said he had taken the decision to postpone the tour.
Jason said: "It is with huge regret that due to reasons associated with my speaking voice, I’ve decided to postpone my forthcoming Midlife Crisis tour until spring 2018.
"For the past 10 years I’ve done hundreds of shows and have only ever cancelled a handful of dates. As you can imagine, when your speaking voice is strained, it’s difficult to embark on a 35-date tour that primarily revolves around me telling stories about my career and my life! I want to be on top form so as I can enjoy the experience and most importantly that you as an audience can share these memories."
He said that the condition affected his speaking voice, but did not directly affect his singing voice.
He will now explore options on medical advice to improve it before taking up the tour again next year.
He will now play Margate on March 21, 2018. All tickets already purchased are valid for the new date. For more details, go to theatreroyalmargate.com
