Dreamland is gearing up for a star-studded summer season with some incredible live performances, starting with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
The former Oasis frontman will be visiting Margate’s iconic beachfront venue on Wednesday, June 8 to kick off his nationwide tour.
The Brit Pop legend will be taking to the stage with his High Flying Birds band to celebrate their most recent album, Back the Way We Came, Vol. 1: 2011-2021.
The album is a compilation record curated by Noel showcasing the band’s decade of releases.
Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds released their self-titled debut album in 2011 and have since topped the UK album four times. Some of their most well-known hits include In the Heat of the Moment, Holy Mountain and If I Had a Gun.
Noel is the singer, songwriter and lead guitarist of the group. Other members include former Oasis members Gem Archer, Mike Rowe, and Chris Sharrock, and former Zutons member Russell Pritchard.
Their Dreamland concert will come shortly after the singer’s recent hospital stay.
Noel was left with two black eyes and needing stitches in his top lip after he was accidentally headbutted by Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias’ dad in the Premier League title celebrations.
The Gallagher brothers are both Manchester City fans and Noel found himself at the centre of the celebrations as the team won the Premier League, leading to an unfortunate accident that landed the singer in hospital.
Luckily the injuries won’t impact Noel’s upcoming Margate show.
The venue’s big-name billing is just one of a number that the Thanet attraction has managed to pull in for the summer.
The likes of the Beach Boys, Paul Weller, Craig David and Tom Grennan have also been confirmed to perform between June and August.
