Pictures of Maidstone’s Mote Park seen through the eyes of the people who use it are to go on show.
Images of the Pavilion, the lake and scenery from the 450-acre picturesque park as it changes through the seasons were entered into the 2016 Mote Park photographic competition.
There were more than 300 entries through the year and the 12 finalists were chosen from likes on the park’s Facebook page and by a guest judge.
All the finalists’ images will go on show at the cafe in the park at the end of this month.
First place went to Danny Bristow for his panoramic image of the Pavilion in the mist, which won a £250 voucher for The Mall, Maidstone, which sponsored the competition.
Second place went to Jackie Lawrence’s image of a sunset over the lake, for which she won a £50 Mall voucher, with Miroslav Gunov’s view of the lake with the boathouse coming third and winning a £20 Mall voucher.
Alan Frith, Mote Park officer for Maidstone council, said: “It was a hard decision for the judges as there were so many good images. The winning ones represented the park at its best.”
The competition will return in 2017. Check the park’s Facebook page for details.
