Take time out to appreciate a slower pace of life this weekend with the annual Weald of Kent Ploughing Match this weekend.
Vintage and steam ploughs will be demonstrated along with horse-ploughing throughout the day on Saturday, September 14 at Poplars Farm, Churn Lane, Horsmonden.
There will also be a traditional tossing the sheaf contest, which is open to visitors to have a go. Besides the ploughing there will be birds of prey flying displays, hounds and terrier racing, a tug-of-war and gun dog demonstrations, as well as a gymkhana with classes for children up to 14 to try show jumping and showing classes, and fancy dress and novelty classes for younger riders and beginners.
There will also be a fun dog show, a dog agility competition and clay shooting with six classes.
Plus visitors can tuck into plenty of food and drink and browse a farmers' market with local produce.
The day, sponsored by BTF Partnership, has some 80 trade stands and costs £7.50 on the gate, with under 12s free. Details at wkpma.co.uk
