Kent demolition expert Danny Wisker found fame last year on a reality TV show, and and now he is using his celebrity contacts to start his own events firm. He spoke to Kathryn Tye ahead of this weekend’s starry launch event.
Demolition expert Danny Wisker hoped to find a knockout woman when he applied for a TV dating show.
The 27-year-old beat dozens of rivals to the finals of ITV2’s Girlfri3nds, shown last year, and was chosen by one of the girls hoping to find their perfect boyfriend.
But although true love didn’t blossom after the show, Danny’s career has.
Although he still lives in Margate and works in demolition, Danny is now also modelling and launching his own events company, Destiny D Events.
The former Hartsdown Technology College pupil said: “After the show I got asked to do a few public appearances and was invited to some celebrity parties where I made a few contacts.
“I also attracted a huge amount of Twitter and Facebook followers, so I was approached by an events company to work for them, and it made me think about starting my own firm.”
At the moment he is running Destiny D Events on his own, but hopes to take on more staff if it proves a success.
He is launching the firm with a special party Glam City at Escape nightclub in Margate on Saturday, June 29, which will be attended by two stars from MTV reality shows: Anna Kelle, otherwise known as AK, from The Valleys, and Ricci Guarnaccio from Geordie Shore.
Danny said: “I met them on nights out after I was on Girlfri3nds, and they became friends and offered to come down and support me at the first event.
"Hopefully if it goes well I will be able to organise more in the area – events that people normally have to leave Margate to attend.”
“It is great to be able to bring some famous faces down to my home town.
Escape is open from 9pm to 4am, with AK and Ricci expected from 11.30pm.
Tickets are £10 on the door or £8 in advance.
