I'm too young to have experienced Beatlemania - more's the pity - but Dartford's The Orchard Theatre was taken back in time in style last night.

From humble beginnings at Liverpool’s Cavern Club through to the height of Beatlemania and beyond, Let it Be brings the story of The Beatles to life.

The tour raised the roof of the venue - packed out impressively for a Monday, which just goes to show the draw our favourite scousers have to this day.

Let It Be is more than just a celebration of the music of The Beatles. It's a walking, talking live history show that will have you dancing in the aisles and singing along at the top of your voice.

It was clear to see this Fab Four had really studied their craft - right from the trademark Ringo drumming style and the banter between them, to the cheeky asides and more subtle characteristics.

Swift costume changes, television screens either side of the stage showing clips from the past and present, and adverts from yesteryear all add to the overall effect.

Fans are taken on a (magical mystery) tour through both the ages and The Beatles' superb back catalogue, which make it a show not to be missed.

A roaring rendition of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, topped by a stunning guitar solo, was another highlight, along with A Day In The Life.

An Abbey Road album medley – featuring Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight and The End – brought the show to a close before the encores.

The performance - which is split in two sections – also uses vintage TV projection screens showing adverts and key moments in history to add to the atmosphere.
