The National Theatre’s internationally-acclaimed production of War Horse will be galloping to three Kent cinema screens later this month.
The play is an adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s 1982 children’s novel of the same name set before and during the First World War.
Since its first performance at the National Theatre in 2007, War Horse has become an international smash hit. It takes audiences on an extraordinary journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France.
Filled with stirring music and songs, War Horse is an imaginative drama adapted for the stage by Nick Stafford.
At its heart are astonishing life-sized puppets by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, their flanks, hides and sinews built of steel, leather and aircraft cables.
The National Theatre production is being beamed live across the world on Thursday, February 27.
Kent audiences can see it at Ashford Cineworld, the Gulbenkian Cinema and the Canterbury Odeon. Contact the cinemas for times and prices.
