Simply Red are set to play Canterbury next summer as one of only a handful of 2016 live shows.
The band will perform at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury, home of Kent County Cricket on Saturday, June 18, as part of a 30th anniversary tour.
Tickets for the show next year have gone on sale today.
Mick Hucknall said: “We are delighted to be performing in the open at The Spitfire Ground. It’s a superb ground in a great location and we have many fans in the area.
“We’re called Simply Red for a reason. I want to keep it simple. Our fans know who we are. They have been loyal to us. Now I’m ready to go out there and give them what they want.”
Kent Cricket CEO, Jamie Clifford said: “We are delighted to be bringing top artists to Canterbury once again after the success of the Madness Concert in the summer of 2015.
"I am confident that once again we will see a concert of the highest calibre at the home of Kent Cricket. It is excellent to be working with LHG again in bringing Simply Red to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence."
Simply Red are celebrating more than 30 years in the music industry with a spectacular anniversary tour.
Culminating in over 60 million worldwide sales the band’s landmark albums include ‘Picture Book’, ‘Men and Women’, ‘A New Flame’, ‘Stars’, ‘Life’ and ‘Blue.’
