Simply Red have announced they will play in Kent next summer.
The band, fronted by singer Mick Hucknall, will play the Hop Farm at Beltring, Paddock Wood.
With hits including Holding Back the Years, Stars and Something Got Me Started, they will play the venue on Friday, June 17, 2022, with very special guest singer Lisa Stansfield.
Formed in Manchester in 1985, they achieved immediate success with their debut single Money's Too Tight To mention and have gone on to sell more than 60m albums worldwide, have five UK No.1 albums and more than a billion views on YouTube.
Mick Hucknall said of the live shows: “I’ve spent most of my life going out and singing for people, and it has felt strange not to have that for such a long time. It’s wonderfully inspiriting that people can go and see bands again now, and I can’t wait to get back on stage.”
Their most recent album Blue Eyed Soul was released in November 2019 and entered the UK charts at No. 6.
Their live show is renowned for its high quality with Mick Hucknall long-established as one of the great vocalists of contemporary music.
Supporting them will be Lisa Stansfield who stormed the charts in 1989, with her guest vocals on Coldcut's ‘People Hold On. She went on to win three BRIT Awards, have a worldwide hit with All Around The World and sell more than 20m albums.
Their date is also two days before Keane play the venue on Sunday, June 19.
