Now seems like the perfect time to make the most of the long summer evenings, and what better way to do it than with an outdoor screening of your favourite film?
Adventure Cinema, the UK’s largest outdoor cinema, is coming to Kent for four nights of sing-along musicals and nostalgic classics all shown on the pop-up big screen.
The touring cinema is bringing its open-air experience to more than 65 venues across the country, including Cobham Hall, near Gravesend.
The Grade I listed building, which has also been used as the filming location of Junior Bake Off, dates back to the 16th century and is surrounded by parkland and trees.
This setting will be the backdrop for Adventure’s outdoor cinema, which kicks off with a sing-along showing of the 1978 musical Grease, complete with on-screen lyrics to hits like Summer Nights, You’re the One That I Want and Greased Lightnin’.
The screenings continue with the Greatest Showman, the 2017 family hit starring Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron, following the story of PT Barnum, a 19th-century businessman who found fame as the ringleader of the Barnum and Bailey circus.
The final two movies are the Abba-inspired musical Mamma Mia, with songs like Dancing Queen and Super Trouper, and ‘80s sci-fi classic Back to the Future starring Michael J Fox.
Before each film there will be a themed soundtrack played over the speakers and cinema snacks such as popcorn will be on offer.
There’s also a licensed bar and plenty of space to lay down a picnic blanket or set up a camping chair for the evening.
