Snowdrops will be the stars of the show at this weekend’s Great Comp Gardens Snowdrop Sensation.
Budding galanthopiles – also known as snowdrop fans - will be able to fill their horticultural boots.
Garden writer Val Bourne will be giving a talk, Tales of the Unexpected - Strange Encounters with Galanthophiles Past and Present during the sale, which runs from 10am to noon on Sunday, February 17.
Val developed her love for the petite white flowers in 1997. “There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, the sun was warm... I fell in love then and then and it flicked the galanthophile switch for me,” said Val.
Some bulbs can cost as much as £1000 and rare ones can fetch more than £1,400. But you won’t need a four figure sum to pick up some delights at the sensation. The sale is from 10am to noon and the garden, near Borough Green, is open until 4pm.
