A new South African dining experience has arrived in the Kent countryside for the summer.
Woolton Farm, which is located in Bekesbourne, near Canterbury, has teamed up with South African chef Keaton Randall to create a new summer menu at The Barn.
The Saffa Bru at Woolton is a collaboration between the farm and the chef, who is well-known for his delicious South African street food.
The menu features Keaton’s trademark South African fare, cooked over a wood fired BBQ at Woolton Farm.
The food on offer includes a number of lunch options, sharing boards and vegan options.
One of the menu’s flagship dishes is the Butcher’s BBQ board, which is a feast of lamb chops, boerewors, rump steak kebabs, garlic chicken skewers, corn on the cob, house tomato chutney and chimichurri.
The farm, which features an outdoor BBQ kitchen, bar, shop and café, is also the home of award-winning cider producer Kentish Pip and Woolton wines.
There is a curated list of craft ciders, English wines and a locally sourced drinks menu available to pair with the new Saffa Bru dishes.
Sam Mount, Woolton Farm’s managing director, said: “We’re excited to be serving up a feast for the senses this summer on the farm, combining Keaton’s delicious South African fare with our own Woolton Farm twists.
“It’s a fabulous dining experience - a relaxed affair made for sharing with friends and family in a stunning setting. The feedback from guests so far has been fantastic.”
For those who want to turn their visit to a short break in the countryside, Woolton Farm also has three self-catered properties available for guests to book. These include the Oast and Old Tannery, which are in Littlebourne, and Ellen’s Cottage in the farm’s meadow.
You can also book a stay in one of the farm’s eight glamping bell tents in the fruit garden behind the barn.
The Saffa Bru at Woolton Farm is available until Monday, October 3. Find out more here.
