Two music greats will play in the lead up to a town's annual music festival.
Huey Morgan, frontman of Fun Lovin’ Criminals, and Terry Hall, lead singer of The Specials, will perform exclusive DJ sets in the build up to this summer's Create Festival in Ashford.
Huey – a DJ, broadcaster, author and producer – is known to millions as the frontman of New York’s cult hip hop funk rock outfit, Fun Lovin’ Criminals. He regularly performs all over the world at big parties, intimate gatherings and acclaimed clubs and festivals and will play at Revelation Ashford as part of the Create Platform.
The platform is a programme of events in the town building up to the festival itself in Victoria Park in July.
Terry is best known for his time as lead singer with The Specials, whose hit Ghost Town was a No.1 hit in 1981 and has become a classic.
His music career beyond The Specials includes bands Fun Boy Three, The Colourfield, Terry, Blair & Anouchka and Vegas. He has released two solo albums and has collaborated with artists including Bananarama, Sinéad O’Connor, Gorilllaz and Lily Allen.
Terry’s musical tastes are varied so festivalgoers can expect to hear hits from The Specials alongside David Bowie, Toots & The Maytals, The Las, The Jackson 5, Max Romeo, and more at his unique DJ night.
The Huey Morgan DJ set will be on Wednesday, July 17 at 7.30pm, while the Terry Hall DJ set will be on Thursday, July 18 also at 7.30pm.
Early bird tickets for both nights are £18 while tickets will be £22 on the door.
