More on KentOnline
If you’re an avid car enthusiast who appreciates the finer things in life, you can peruse some of the most stylish vehicles in the world at a Kent castle.
The grounds of Hever Castle, near Edenbridge, will be taken over by Supercars, a one-day event displaying high-performance vehicles.
The motoring event will showcase the likes of Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche in showrooms and lawn displays.
There will also be rally cars including Subaru, Escort and Lancia, as well as the Formula 1 car driven by Nelson Piquet, who won the Japanese and Australian Grand Prix in 1990.
The award-winning castle gardens will provide a fitting backdrop to the state-of-the-art vehicles, including the Lamborghinis that will be on display to celebrate the car’s 60th birthday.
Visitors can compete against their friends and family to see who will pass the finish line first in a Brands Hatch racing circuit simulator which will mirror the experience of speeding along the race track in a Formula 1 car.
While the focus is on the supercars, there will also be lots of information on the future of driving including environmental cars, solar cars and innovative eco-friendly technology, along with a Tesla showroom.
Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic and enjoy a break in the grounds, or pick up a treat or two from the on-site food stalls and cafe.
While you’re there, you can also take part in Hever Castle’s summer holiday activities, such as the Heroes and Villains School, the Water Maze and the Tudor Towers playground.
Supercars will be at Hever Castle on Sunday, August 6. You can book tickets online here.
The event is included in the price of a standard entry ticket.
