If you’re bound to overindulge on Easter eggs and roast potatoes over the bank holiday weekend and fancy something a little different, there’s a buzzing food and drink festival coming to the coast.
The Broadstairs Food Festival returns this spring with stacks of sizzling street food vendors, pop-up bars and local producers.
The event, which is held every spring and autumn in the seaside town, will boast artisan bakes, global cuisine, refreshing cocktails and real ale from a host of Kent-based stalls.
Traders set to appear this year include Bexleyheath’s Tipsy Bakery, Whitstable’s Radburger, Canterbury’s Hide and Greek, Faversham’s Kent Cider Company and Tonbridge’s Anno Distillers.
There will also be a series of live cooking demonstrations from top chefs and culinary experts.
The team from Copper Rivet in Chatham will be giving a cocktail masterclass while the Old Curiosity Shop in Broadstairs will be putting on an Easter biscuit decorating workshop and the producers from Brenley Vineyard, near Faversham, will be guiding visitors through a wine tasting session.
The festival programme also features live music, craft workshops and ticketed dining experiences led by chefs from local restaurants.
The Broadstairs Food Festival will take place from Good Friday to Easter Sunday at Victoria Gardens.
Entry to the festival is free, but some of the workshops and dining experiences are ticketed and can be booked online in advance.
