Brit Award winner and Grammy nominee Adam Ant is set to play in Kent this year.
The Prince Charming singer who has had 22 hit singles, won two Ivor Novello Awards and has been named MTV’s Sexiest Man Alive is taking his Friend or Foe tour on the road and it includes a date in Margate.
He will play his Friend or Foe album, which was his first release as a solo artist, in its entirety, including hits Goody Two Shoes, which reached No.1 in the UK and No.6 in the USA Billboard Chart.
Friend or Foe, the single, was another Top 10 hit while Desperate But Not Serious was the album’s third UK smash.
It turned Adam into a household name, resulting in a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and an MTV Award for Sexiest Man Alive.
Adam Ant’s musical career spans the course of nine albums and 22 chart-topping singles worldwide. At one point, he had eight singles in the UK Top 40 in one week.
His 1979 debut album was Dirk Wears White Sox while his follow-up album Kings of the Wild Frontier featured his trademark burundi beat style of African drumming. His single Stand and Deliver went straight to No.1 and stayed in the top spot in the UK Singles Chart for five weeks, earning him two Ivor Novello Awards for Best Songwriter of the Year and Best British Record. His No.1 single Prince Charming was from his album of the same name, making him a global star.
His concert at Margate Winter Gardens - the second to last of his tour - will be on Tuesday, December 10, and will include the Friend or Foe album, plus other classic chart-topping singles and some of his personal favourites.
