Meet your favourite superheroes and pick up a collectable or two at Kent’s biggest comic book convention.
The MDC+ Comic-Con returns to Quex Park in Birchington-on-Sea with stars from Netflix show Stranger Things and Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon set to appear.
In previous years, the festival featured mostly characters and actors from the Marvel and DC franchises.
However, for this year’s convention, it looks like the hit Netflix series Stranger Things will be taking centre stage.
Tom Wlaschiha, who played Dmitri Antonov in the fourth season of the show, will be meeting fans throughout the day, and there will also be a full-size Demogorgon to pose with for photos.
House of the Dragon, HBO’s prequel to the critically acclaimed Game of Thrones series, will also be a main attraction this year, with actors Elliot Grihault and Harry Collett set to appear.
Chris Barrie, star of sci-fi series Red Dwarf, the Young Ones, Blackadder, Splitting Image and the Tomb Raider films, will also be at the convention.
However, superheroes remain an integral part of the event. This year, Yolanda Lynes from blockbuster film Black Widow, Paul Warren who acted as Chris Evans’ body double in Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel trading card illustrator Phil Buckenham are part of the line-up.
There will also be a number of authors, artists and graphic novelists with stalls at the convention.
Visitors are welcome to dress up in their best cosplay to be in with a chance of winning the Best Dressed prize, and there will be official cosplayers wandering around the park for you to snap a selfie with throughout the day.
There will also be a gaming area with VR headsets, vendor booths, autograph tables, activities such as pistol shooting and archery, a food court and performances from Titan the Robot.
Film fans can also admire recreations of their favourite scenes and props, including a replica of Platform 9 ¾ from the Harry Potter franchise, the Ghostbusters car, Marvel and DC superhero statues and, in the children’s area, Cinderella’s carriage.
"Last year we focused on Marvel and DC,” says event organiser Gerald McCarthy. “This year we've opened the door to a host of TV and film genres including Stranger Things, Star Wars, Dr Who, Star Trek, House of the Dragon and lots more.”
