Fans will be rockin’ all over the coast next summer as Status Quo announce an outdoor headline concert.
The legendary rock band will be performing a special one-off show in Margate in August 2024.
The group will be playing an open-air gig at the town’s vintage fairground, Dreamland, for the first time in 56 years on Thursday, August 15.
They will be taking to Dreamland’s Scenic Stage to perform some of their biggest hits such as Down Down, Rockin’ All Over the World and Whatever You Want.
The band, who formed in the early 1960s while founding members Francis Rossi and Alan Lancaster were still in school, last performed at the seaside venue in 1968.
Throughout their seven-decade career, Status Quo have sold more than 118 million records worldwide, released more than 100 singles and spent more than 400 weeks in the UK singles chart.
Their Top 10 hit Rockin’ All Over the World, originally recorded by Creedence Clearwater Revival’s John Fogerty, was the opening number at the ground-breaking 1985 Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium.
The band are one of the longest-running rock groups in British history, being active for more than 60 consecutive years.
Tickets for the concert will be available to book online here.
Tickets go on sale on Friday, September 29 from 10am.
