A Strictly star is teaming up with a platinum-selling vocal group to create an all-singing, all-dancing new show.
Nadiya Bychkova, who has been a professional dancer on the BBC One contest since 2017, will be hitting the road with The Overtones for a nationwide tour next year.
The show, named Jukebox Idols, will kick off in June, with dates at Bromley’s Churchill Theatre and Folkestone’s Leas Cliff Hall in July.
The production will see The Overtones, who rose to fame in 2010 with the release of their debut album, Good 'Ol Fashioned Love, perform retro hits from the likes of The Beatles, Elvis Presley, the Beach Boys and Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
The music will provide a backdrop for the cast of dancers, led by TV star Nadiya, who will take to the stage with dazzling swing, jive and ballroom routines.
“This is going to be amazing,” says the 35-year-old dancer. “I am so excited to be touring Jukebox Idols next summer with The Overtones. They are the best vocal harmony group in the UK and it’s going to be wonderful sharing the stage with them.
“The entire cast is at the top of their game so the show is going to be a perfect fusion of song and dance. We can’t wait for you to see it."
Since joining the cast of Strictly seven years ago, Nadiya has been paired with celebrity partners such as EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami, Blue singer and former Chatham resident Lee Ryan and TV presenter Dan Walker.
In the most recent series, the Ukrainian dance champion was partnered with Olympic swimmer Tom Dean. They were the first couple eliminated from the show.
Tickets to the Jukebox Idols tour are on sale now and can be booked here.
The show will visit the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on Wednesday, July 2 and Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone on Friday, July 4.
