The ballroom dancer, who joined the Strictly Come Dancing judging panel as head judge in 2017, will be signing copies of her new book at the Greenhithe shopping centre on Sunday, October 29.

The 63-year-old has used her experience in the dance world to write her gripping new novel.

Murder on the Dancefloor is set in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom and is centred around the mysterious death of a young performer who meets their fate at the tower’s famous Dance Festival.

Ballas won the Professional Latin division at the Blackpool Dance Festival in 1983 with her first husband, Sammy Stopford.

In 1985, she married Corky Ballas and the pair competed together - and won - at the same festival in 1995 and 1996.

Their son, Mark Ballas, is also a professional dancer on Strictly’s American counterpart, Dancing with the Stars.

Tickets to the book signing cost £18.99 and include a copy of Murder on the Dancefloor, which will be available to collect on the day. You can book tickets online here.

The signing begins at 12pm at Waterstones, located in the shopping centre’s West Village.
