Visit Santa’s Grotto and watch the Christmas lights be turned on at Tunbridge Wells’ Royal Victoria Place

Christmas is coming early to Tunbridge Wells with the town’s lights being turned on at Royal Victoria Place on Saturday 16 November.

Ore Oduba, star of Strictly Come Dancing and Aladdin in this year’s panto at The Assembly Hall Theatre, and Santa will be switching on the lights at 5pm. The kmfm presenters will be there with its street team to promote the event too.

There’s an action-packed day of events lined up, starting at 10am with the Snow Queen and Her Snowy Companion going on an exciting frosty treasure hunt in the Once Upon a Wish show.

There are also shows at 11.15am, 1pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

Santa’s Grotto will be open for visitors from 10am to 3pm, with booking advised. Book here.

Further entertainment will be provided by the Absolute Gospel Choir, who will be between 12pm and 2pm, while the Rock Choir will be bringing the festive tunes from 4.15pm.

There will also be special extended opening hours at Royal Victoria Place, with shopping until 7pm.

Throughout November and December, there will be a host of other activities, including the chance to take a Christmas selfie, taking part in the elf academy and listening to Mrs Christmas storytelling.

From Wednesday 4 December o Sunday 29 December, there will also be the opportunity to see the Fearless Fox and the Christmas Star children’s theatre show at the Little Vic Theatre. Book here.
