The current tour stars Marley Fenton, who visited Kent as the Tin Man in the Wizard of Oz earlier this year, as Danny Zuko and Hope Dawe as Sandy Dumbrowski in her professional stage debut.

The latest production, which has been adapted from the West End version, also features choreography by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips.

More than 50 years ago, Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey created the musical and celebrated as it made its live debut in 1971.

Just a few years later, in 1978, Grease achieved worldwide recognition thanks to the Paramount Pictures blockbuster.

The screen adaptation became the highest-grossing musical film at the time and was nominated for an Academy Award and five Golden Globe Awards.

It stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John as Danny and Sandy, two teenagers who meet on summer vacation and strike up a romantic connection.

When squeaky-clean Sandy transfers to Rydell High, she is reunited with a leather-clad Danny but the pair realise that rekindling their romance amid high school cliques might not be as easy as they had hoped.

The show is set in the 1950s and features hits such as You’re the One That I Want, Hopelessly Devoted to You, Summer Nights and Greased Lightnin’.

Grease will be at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre from Monday, September 9 to Saturday, September 14. You can book tickets online here.
