A second theatre in Kent is to host The Band, a show featuring the music of Take That, it has been announced.
The show had already been scheduled to come to the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury next month, but will now play at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford too, due to overwhelming demand.
The announcement was made by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers and Take That members Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Robbie Williams today.
The musical by Tim Firth is about what it’s like to grow up passionately following a boyband.
For five 16-year-old friends in 1992, "the band" is everything, helping them through fun and tough times.
Twenty five years later, audiences are reunited with the friends, now 40-something women, as they try to fulfil their dream of meeting their heroes once more.
The show, which comes to the Orchard from Tuesday, February 5 to Friday, February 9, 2019 stars Rachel Lumberg as Rachel, Alison Fitzjohn as Claire, Emily Joyce as Heather and Jayne McKenna as Zoe.
The band includes Kent's own AJ Bentley, Nick Carsberg, Curtis T Johns, Yazdan Qafouri and Sario Solomon, collectively known as Five To Five, who were winners of the BBC’s Let It Shine talent show, who play as The Band.
Directed by Kim Gavin and Jack Ryder, it is produced by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers and Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, Robbie Williams.
