More people than ever applied to snap up tickets to Kent attractions as part of the Kent Big Weekend this year.
In its 10th anniversary, it received a recordbreaking number of applications – and there are still some tickets up for grabs.
A total of 122,243 applications were made for this year’s event, which takes place on Saturday, March 12 and Sunday, March 13, with the website receiving more than 41,000 hits.
More than 26,000 tickets for 119 experiences were donated by 116 attractions to the event, organised by Visit Kent.
There are some unclaimed tickets which can still be snapped up.
Attractions including animals and wildlife proved popular with Wingham Wildlife Park, Port Lympne Reserve and Howletts Wild Animal being the most popular choices, receiving a combined number of applications of almost 14,000.
Applications to Leeds Castle reached more than 4,600, while there were more than 4,200 bids for entry to Hever Castle.
Visit Kent chief executive Sandra Matthews-Marsh said: "The fact that we have broken all previous records for participation, tickets offered and applications is the best 10 birthday present we could ask for."
To mark its 10th birthday, there will be 10 golden tickets at 10 different Big Weekend locations hidden at participating venues, which will be given at random to one lucky ticket holder at each attraction over the weekend. The tickets will give the winner a National Trust Pass for two.
There will also be a selfie competition running across social media on the weekend. Share a selfie enjoying the #KentBigWeekend16 and #kbwselfie on Twitter or Instagram for the chance to win a year’s membership to English Heritage for two.
The weekend is organised to coincide with English Tourism Week, promoting attractions across the county.
