The first Margate Comic Art Festival takes place this weekend.
Brought by the organisers of the International Comic Expo, or ICE as it is better known, the new event celebrates the rich diversity of the comic art medium, featuring an international guest list of famous comic creators and also a selection of exhibiting artists, dealers and publishers.
Guests include Laurence Campbell, Rufus Dayglo, Simon Furman and Emma Vieceli.
Some of the biggest films and TV series in the world found their origins in the pages of comics and graphic novels.
Featuring the artists and writers behind such household names as The Avengers, X-Men, Suicide Squad, The Punisher and Batman, this weekend promises to be any comic fan’s dream come true.
The weekend will treat visitors to a trade fair full of collectable artwork and rare comics plus a full programme of fun events, including guest interviews, art workshops for children and the colourful costumed characters of cosplay.
The event is on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15 at Margate Winter Gardens and is open from 11am to 5.30pm both days. Weekend tickets cost £25, £8 children, £16 student and family of five £72.
