Indie rockers The Libertines will round off their latest tour on their home turf in Margate.
The group recently opened part of the long-awaited Albion Rooms in the seaside town.
And they will finish their tour at Margate Winter Gardens, following dates in London, Glasgow and around the country, on Sunday, December 22.
The group said: “We’re wrapping up this year with one final show on our home turf in Margate. With the Albion Rooms open we’re feeling well and truly dug in now, so it’s time to deck the halls and haul the decks for a good winter knees-up by the sea.”
The band's bassist John Hassall will also be heading in to Canterbury the night before for a special evening in Vinylstore Jr, in Castle Street.
He will be joining Gina Lapsley, organiser of the local Classic Album Sundays events where music fans listen to a classic album on vinyl communally together, in its entirety.
The events have been running in the city since last year. The event on Saturday, December 21 at 6.30pm, will be to discuss the making of the band's debut album Up The Bracket before listening to it all the way through. It is in aid of charity and runs until 8.30pm. Tickets cost £10. To book go to classicalbumsundays.com There is also a Facebook event, search CAS Canterbury to find out more.
