A Rolling Stones tribute band - described by Sir Mick Jagger as ‘the most famous Stones band in England’ - will be performing in Canterbury on Saturday 1 July.

The Counterfeit Stones will be performing as part of the St Edmund’s Festival on the Hill. This hugely popular act is more than a tribute to the Rolling Stones, they're a complete re-enactment.

These fraud-stars continue to deliver the best “mock ‘n’ roll” show on the circuit. Packed with big hits, retro fashion, vintage guitars and a huge dollop of “Spinal Tap” humour, it’s Satis-fiction guaranteed.

The Counterfeit Stones have successfully toured the globe for nearly 20 years and during that time have played shows with audience capacities of up to 60,000. Their many fans include Bill Clinton, Prince Edward, Lemmy, The Gallagher brothers, Jerry Hall and of course The Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger himself.

The Festival on the Hill at St Edmund’s continues to attract world-class, award-winning performers and is committed to promoting the arts and providing inspiring artistic opportunities for young people in Kent.

The week-long celebration runs from June 28 to July 4 and presents an exciting and diverse programme of events with educational and community benefits throughout as well as fabulous entertainment.

Other highlights include The Jess Gillam Ensemble (June 28) who will perform an explosive showcase of the diversity, dynamism and versatility of the saxophone.

Sunday Swing presents Ronnie Scott’s favourites, The Ray Gelato Giants, in the Festival Marquee. A Sunday afternoon (July 2) for all the family to enjoy with great, swinging tunes from these top musicians and check out the Swing Dance workshop in the morning to get you ‘in the mood’.

The Sing! Workshops (July 3) will give school children and adults (tickets available) the chance to work with Mark De-Lisser, the dynamic vocal coach from the BAFTA nominated BBC’s Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure. The groups will come together (all 300 voices!) to perform in the St Edmund’s Theatre – a real community event in support of local dementia charity, Bright Shadow.
