Kent theatre company Changeling Theatre has announced its highly-anticipated show for next summer.
The group, based in Maidstone, will take their adaptation of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night around the county next year.
The company usually performs two plays as part of its annual open-air tour but, in 2025, there will be just one production.
The Bard’s romantic comedy centres on twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated in a shipwreck.
Changeling’s take on the play will be full of ‘plot twists, mistaken identity, mayhem and utter farce’. It will also mark the company’s 24th tour.
The group, led by founder and artistic director Rob Forknall, last performed Twelfth Night 20 years ago.
The previous tour is where actor Sarah Finigan, who has appeared in ITV's The Ipcress File and has performed for Shakespeare’s Globe, and writer Michael Wagg first met. The pair, who played Maria and Malvolio, are now married.
The tour starts on Friday, July 4 at Boughton Monchelsea Place, near Maidstone. Tickets and more information will be released in the New Year.
Earlier this year, Changeling performed two plays, Shakespeare’s Henry V and Noël Coward’s Present Laughter, at outdoor venues all over Kent and the surrounding areas.
Previous productions include Love's Labour’s Lost, the School for Scandal, the Importance of Being Earnest, the Winter’s Tale, Othello and Hamlet.
