Cinderella, U
From eight to 88, we all know the magical story of a kind girl who lost her shoe at a glittering ball in a far away land.
So has Disney just thrown up a live action version of the blue-dressed blonde?
This film keeps the magic and mystery of the brilliant fairy-tale while icing it with fabulous costumes, interesting dialogue and music to delight even the most cynical of little princesses.
With gentle wit and smooth romance, this is worth seeing even if we all know how it will end.
They've even thrown in some ponies and a Frozen short for the more fanatical of smaller viewers. Bring on the tiaras.
Starring an unworldly Helena Bonham Carter and the beautiful Lily James, this is definitely not a quick profit for the producer of childhood magic. Brilliant for adults and children alike.
Did you know? In the original Cinderella story from 1697, the ugly stepsisters cut off their toes to fit in the shoe.
Is it for me? No one will pretend this is carefully marketed to young boys who like robots. But it’s funny enough to keep them involved if you manage to get them into the theatre. This is a slightly less political and feminist Maleficent.
Running time: 113 minutes
Showing at: Chatham Odeon, Canterbury Curzon, Bluewater De Lux
