Be bright and be seen.
That's the life saving message we want to pass onto families in Kent as winter approaches - alongside giving away thousands of free reflective keyrings to help children remain visible and safe on the county's streets.
With the clocks going back on Sunday (October 30) and British Summertime coming to an end, more of us will start travelling in the dark.
It is during the morning rush hour and after school period between 3pm and 6pm, when children are most likely to be injured on the roads and so we hope the return of our Be Bright Be Seen campaign can help.
Whether your family is going to and from work or school, to an after school activity or sports club, making a quick dash to the shops or walking the dog - the darker evenings put us all in more danger as pedestrians inevitably become harder to see by passing motorists.
But with the help of Kent County Council's Road Safety Team we've got 25,000 keyrings to hand out to schools, clubs, sports teams and youth groups which are brilliant eye catching reflectors, alongside some helpful advice from the experts about how to stay seen.
During foggy and overcast days pedestrians and cyclists are advised to wear something brightly coloured.
In the dark it should be reflective, so that it can be picked up by vehicles and lights on the road. Alongside our specially-designed keyrings - that can be clipped onto bags, coats, bikes or scooters - this could also be anything from armbands and stickers to reflective vests or tabards.
KCC road safety officer David Williams said: "As the mornings and evenings get darker, the visibility of pedestrians and cyclists is always a concern at this time of year. Whilst drivers must take extra care to look out for vulnerable road users, it is important that we make ourselves and our children as visible as possible to vehicles.
"Bright clothing and reflective accessories such as these reflective keyrings will help improve your visibility.
"This campaign perfectly illustrates how something as simple as making a decision on what clothing you wear could potentially save your life."
Teachers, teaching assistants, youth group leaders and headteachers across Kent are all being invited to apply for an allocation of the free keyrings which can be done by clicking here.
The deadline for applications is November 13.
