Pub in the Park founder Tom Kerridge has launched a new drive-in initiative for Kent, following a near sell-out success for his drive-in theatre event which kicks off next week.
Designed for these unusual times, Pub in the Park’s drive-in Garden Party promises a music line-up including Kaiser Chiefs and Basement Jazz at an event for enjoying food, live music and all from the safety of your own private enclosure.
It comes as organisers have decided to postpone Pub in the Park, which had been due to be held in Dunorlan Park, Tunbridge Wells. until next year.
Initially the popular event had been pushed back to August, but today organisers said they had decided to reschedule to next year.
It also comes in the light of Tom's Drive-in Theatre event at Hever Castle, tickets for which sold like hot cakes, with big screen cinema, food curated by the celebrity chef, and two comedy nights.
Due to be held in Eridge Park near Tunbridge Wells. the Drive-in Garden Party invites visitors to park up, pop out and party with a car-full of friends and family, while enjoying lush food and top music in their own socially distanced garden.
Each visiting party has a private enclosure in which to park their car, spread out and enjoy top quality food 'Pub in the Park style’ with a choice of five different restaurants; courtesy of Michelin starred chefs including Tom Kerridge, Atul Kochhar and Paul Ainsworth.
Each event provides three hours of live music and wicked DJ sets from acts including Kaiser Chiefs, Keane, 80s legend Rick Astley, Groove Armada DJ Set, Soul II Soul, Scouting for Girls, Squeeze, Steve Harley, Gabrielle and Basement Jaxx, with more acts to follow.
Hampers of drinks can be ordered before or during the event and will be safely delivered to each enclosure by waiting staff. Guests will be able to wander the perimeter of the giant main arena to soak up the atmosphere, experience and shop from the Pub in the Park family of brands; including small producers at the Artisan Car Boot Sale.
Pub in the Park’s drive in Garden Party has been launched following the decision to postpone seven of the originally scheduled events to 2021. The organisers still hope to host Pub in the Park Marlow, at the end of September, with social distancing measures in place; with a final decision to be made in 4-6 weeks.
Commenting on the announcement, Tom Kerridge said “We remain committed to providing great food and drink events throughout these difficult and complicated times. But we’re also looking forward to returning to a full tour in 2021”.
Pub in the Park’s drive in Garden Party will be taking place at Eridge Park Estate near Tunbridge Wells from Friday, September 18 to Sunday, September 20. Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 17.
Tickets start at £45. For more information go to.driveingardenparty.com
