The dash on Amazon bargain deals has gotten underway with over a million offers and discounts up for grabs for Prime customers.

Amazon Prime Day 2018 is into its third consecutive year with the special offers only available for 36 hours for subscribers of the Amazon Prime service. The launch of the summer sale officially started at noon and ends at midnight tomorrow.

“Prime members will enjoy a day and a half of our best deals, with 36 hours to shop more than one million deals worldwide,” said Jeff Wilke who is CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer.

“Members can enjoy exclusive savings at Whole Foods Market and experience surprise entertainment events unboxed from giant Smile boxes in major cities.”

Amazon is offering a free 30-day trial for non-Prime subscribers wishing to get their hands on those special offers. Those new members will then be charged £7.99 per month once the trial period expires.

The online retailer will have different deals on offer during the Prime Day rush including Spotlight Deals - that will be live throughout the entire duration of Prime Day - and lightning deals (up to six hours and limited stock).

Customers have been advised to stay vigilant so as not to miss out on some of those deals, some of which may not be live for very long on Amazon.

Using Amazon’s Watchlist option essentially allows customers the option to add an item that they are interested to a list. They will then get notified when a deal for that chosen item goes live.

Some of those spotlight deals on Monday, July 16 include a Motorola MBP50 Video Baby Monitor, priced at £87.99 knocked down from £109.99 and the Harry Potter Box Set: The Complete Collection (Children’s Paperback) reduced to £21.99 from £29.99.

Other offers include up to 30% off premium brands Boss, G-Star and Pepe Jeans and a special edition Sennheiser wireless headphones at half price (£89.99 down from £179.99). Gamers will also be able to pick up a variety of video games for under £30.00.
