Goose on the Green, Deal
The Goose on the Green cafe, which sits on the Walmer seafront and is just a short stroll from Deal Castle, ranks pretty high on Tripadvisor, so it must be doing something right. Its modest but appealing menu has plenty of veggie bites for breakfast and lunch, and none of them will break the bank. Whether it’s a full vegetarian breakfast, Nutella french toast or a spinach and ricotta omelette, you can easily fill up for under a tenner here.

The Wallflower Cafe, Herne Bay
Sitting on the high street of this quiet seaside town is the Wallflower Cafe. Using only natural and organic ingredients, and with a completely plant-based menu, there is a real focus on putting the best into your body when it comes to the food here. It’s also the first cafe to sell Whitstable-based brand Lost Sheep Coffee. With a breakfast menu of baps, toast and pancakes and daytime dishes such as Buddha bowls and frittatas, there’s lots of choice for a meat-free meal.

Lady Luck, Canterbury
You might be surprised that a rock ‘n’ roll bar is our pick for a family friendly bite, but this welcoming pub is the perfect place to bring your young vegetarians. Their unique meat-free options, such as the Rick and Morty baguette with szechuan sauce and southern fried jackfruit, are often rated among the best in Canterbury. And what’s more, they have a children’s menu with vegan nuggets, fish fingers and sausages, so your kids can join you for a delicious plant-based meal.
