Some of the county's top chefs will be joining celebrity chef Tom Kerridge when he brings his Pub in the Park festival to Tunbridge Wells.

The Sportsman's Stephen Harris and The Wife of Bath and Rocksalt chef Mark Sargeant and Kent-born Angela Hartnett MBE will join Tom at the food and drink festival when it is held at Dunorlan Park in July.

Also on the line-up for the Kent festival will be Dancing on Ice and former Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown as well as the Tanner Brothers from The Hare near Tunbridge Wells, and Rob Taylor from the Compasses Inn at Crundale.

The event was launched by the chef, currently appearing on BBC2 in Lose Weight for Good, after its inaugural year at his home town of Marlow, when all 18,000 tickets sold out in a day.

Speaking about bringing the festival to Tunbridge Wells, he said: "We are showcasing beautiful food and lots of buzz in a beautiful town. It ticks all the boxes. I know that the event will be amazing.

"The buzz it created last year in Marlow was amazing and people were talking about what good fun it was for ages afterwards. We want to bring that to Tunbridge Wells.

"We're bringing in people who have the heart and soul and the passion. Artisan is a word which is banded about a lot, but it is about passion and heart and soul, so this festival has that artisanal feel. It will be something really special in your back garden."

The event aims to celebrate the very best food the county has to offer, combined with live music, chef demonstrations and talks.

Music will come from the likes of Toploader, Scouting for Girls, The Christians, Tom Odell.

Pub in the Park will be taking place from Friday, July 6 to Sunday, July 8. Tickets go on general sale on Friday, February 2, but those who register for Pub Club get information and tickets on Thursday, February 1. To sign up visit pubinthepark.co.uk
