Well, it is the end of January already and it is so true what people say about getting older. The days seem to go so much quicker.
I remember when I was a kid sat in my classroom at school staring at the clock, watching the hands slowly tick around, thinking “come on go faster. Hurry up, so I can go home!”
Now, I look at a clock and it’s 9am, then, before I know it, it’s 6pm and another day has gone!
At least the snow has disappeared. I’m not going to lie to you, I love the snow. From a very young age I’ve been very lucky to be able to go skiing so playing in the snow brings back great childhood memories. That’s why I couldn’t resist getting out and building a snowman last week.
The thing is, after a few days of people moaning and feeling like you’ve got frostbite, the novelty does wear off. As the snow turns to slush, you start to wish it would just warm up. That’s typical Brit speak – never happy.
Now if you’ve never listened to the kmfm Breakfast Show before, you may not have heard Team Rob vs Team Emma.
Last week was horrendous!
My efforts in the gym were for nothing as I took on the Woolridge challenge. This, in a nutshell, is like Man vs Food.
Rob and I were given the challenge of eating seven, 4oz burgers covered with seven rashers of bacon, salad, coleslaw and chips. We had to go head to head to see who could eat the mountain of food before one of us gave up.
Any of my friends will say I’m one of the most competitive people you’ll ever meet but this challenge had me a little bit nervous to say the least. It contained 3,400 calories and believe me, it was big! Enormous in fact!
I must say a huge thank you to everyone who voted Team Emma on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/kmfmofficial) but unfortunately I lost the task. As it stands, we are now 1-1. I was disappointed I couldn’t finish the burger but come on, it was the size of my head!
This week, a new challenge has been set and you can check out all the details on our Facebook page. Make sure you cast your vote. Don’t tell Rob but I feel pretty confident about this one. Don’t forget if you vote, you are in with a chance of winning some great prizes.
Recently on The Breakfast Show we were talking about fashion faux pas and we had some great texts come in. One from Ang in Gillingham said she decided to dye her hair red but it ended up going a very bright orange.
So in my eternal wisdom, after the show I decided I would also like to dye my hair. I’m not sure what came over me but I thought ‘why not?’
Well, Ang, if you’re reading this, it will help you feel better when I tell you that my very light brown hair turned jet black after I left it on too long. To make matters worse, when I dried and straightened it, large clumps were coming out.
The bald look has never really suited me so I’ll think twice before dyeing it again.
