with Breakfast DJ Emma Saint
Well done to anyone who is still managing to keep up with their New Year resolutions. My healthy eating and fitness regime is slowly beginning to slip and it doesn’t help when you work with someone like my co-host Rob Wills, who thinks it’s a great idea to bring a McDonald’s into the office!
It’s ok if you have a mate or work colleague that just buys a Big Mac and eats it but the thing is Rob has a great way at making you feel like you NEED to eat it to.... “Mmmm this food tastes so good, smell it ...” Then he wafts it under my nose. I think he is the devil in disguise.
It’s just too much temptation and before I know it I’m sat there looking Frappy (Fat and Happy) with a bag of chips!
To be fair I did make a conscious effort to go and play badminton this week. However, the thing is my mind works in such a silly way – Emma’s Logic I call it. For some reason it seems to tell me that once I’ve been and done exercise I can reward myself by buying a big, fat chocolate bar from the vending machine on the way out! Note to self: Stop pigging out on rubbish. Stick to the New Year resolution.
If you’ve been listening to Rob and myself on the breakfast show recently you will have heard the Kent Sound.
One of our latest Kent Sounds turned out to be the recording of an oyster being opened in Whitstable – it was won by Steve Farrugia who walked away with £590.
I still have no idea what the new sound is but you can guess throughout the day and with us on Breakfast between 5.30am and 9am.
Every incorrect guess means another £15 is added to the prize money and its climbing rapidly. So keep listening and good luck!
Chance to get glad rags on for trip to the Brits
For most music fans this time of year means one thing – the Brit Awards. I’m going to be totally honest when it comes to the Brits I couldn’t really care less who won but if you offered me a ticket I’d be dressed to the nines waiting on the doorstep ready to go.
I think the reason I’ve never really been bothered is because its so untouchable.
As a teenager I remember thinking it’s so unfair you can only go to the awards ceremony if you’re a celeb or know a friend of a friend – or you’re a bouncer and there to protect the famous people. Well I’m a petite female so that was me off the list.
However, this year on kmfm we have tickets to give away that could mean YOU are off to the Brits! Yes I’m totally jealous because it could be you dressing up in your glad rags and swanning around with the likes of Emeli Sande, pictured, Adele, One Direction, James Arthur, Jessie J......the list is endless. So make sure your tuning into kmfm so you don’t miss out.
By the way if you want to take me along as well I’m available and even if there’s something in my diary it’s now officially cleared.
Talking of the Brits I’m pretty sure Emeli Sande is going to clear up at the Brits and good for her I say. We saw her all over the Olympics and what a fantastic voice she has. One of my other favourites is in the best male solo artist category, where Olly Murs is up for nomination. My fingers are crossed!
