Want to travel back in time? Ready the cannons and head on down to the Hop Farm for the War and Peace Revival, Abigail Baker rounds up what’s on.
Jump in your tanks and embark on a mission to the greatest celebration of military history and vintage lifestyle in the world as the War and Peace Revival returns to the Hop Farm with a bang.
Each year the War and Peace Revival sees thousands of military vehicles ranging from helicopters and tanks to jeeps and commercial vehicles gather to make the event the largest military vehicle gathering in the world and this year is no exception.
Immerse yourself in the living history of conflicts past and present with military vehicle displays, battle re-enactments and the all-new tactical training area conducted by ex-SAS Phil Campion.
There will also be stunning living history displays that offer a realistic image of the struggles and victories that took place throughout different conflicts over the past century, including the
exclusive reveal of 360 History’s living history display Project Black Sea, new this year.
The all-new tactical training area conducted by ex-SAS Phil Campion provides a unique experience of combat and is an exciting addition to the variety of remarkable events planned for 2018’s show.
Once ‘enlisted’, you are given the mission of breaching the battleship and clearing all of the targets as quickly as possible. Are you brave enough?
But it’s not just about the frontline, as visitors can experience what life was like for those left at home during the conflicts as their family members fought over seas. There will be a whole area dedicated to the peace element of the show’s title displaying the efforts of the Home Front.
The show also offers evening entertainment for those wishing to camp overnight, including the performances of Jackson Sloan and the Rhythmtones on Friday, July 27, and Alex Mendham and his
orchestra at the gala dinner along with the legendary dance competition hosted by Gypsy John and Karen, with special guests, on Saturday, July 28.
