It all starts with a day of free live music from Lookin’ Back, Katherine Preston and Nostalgia, a classic car show and a sunset seaside stroll that takes participants on a five-mile route from The Leas in Minster to Queenborough.

During the week, the festival boasts lots of activities for families, including steam train rides, donkey rides, Punch and Judy shows and a funfair.

There will also be plenty of nods to the seaside town’s coastal heritage such as a crabbing competition, rock pooling, sea shanties and a beach litter pick at Garrison Point, the Blue Flag Beach, Catholic Church Cove, Marine Parade and the Ship on Shore.

The final day will see the Sheerness carnival take to the streets with a procession from New Road at 4pm.

The parade along Broad Street, Railway Road, Millennium Way, Trinity Road, Broadway, Alma Road, Cavour Road, Invicta Road and the High Street with colourful floats and carnival queens set to make an appearance.

It all ends with a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm from Beachfields Park, where there will also be a fairground.

The full festival programme can be found online here.

The Sheerness Seaside Festival takes place from Saturday, August 10 to Saturday, August 17.
