Former boyband pin-up Shane Filan has thrilled his legion of fans in Kent after announcing a concert here later this year.

Now a solo act, his You and Me tour will visit Margate Winter Gardens on Thursday, November 20, where he promises some crowd-pleasing old favourites as well as his new material.

Shane released his debut solo album, You and Me, through Capitol Records in November 2013, featuring the singles Everything To Me, About You and the latest release, Knee Deep In My Heart.

The 34-year-old said: “The album means so much to me and I cannot wait to play these songs in front of an audience. Of course there will be some old fan favourites from memory lane and a couple of surprises in there, too. Hope to see you all there.”

With Irish boyband Westlife, Shane sold more than 45 million records worldwide before they announced that they were splitting after a Greatest Hits album and a farewell tour.

It's a long time since local fans have had the opportunity to see him live - Shane was last in Thanet when Westlife performed at St George’s School in Broadstairs in July 2004.
