Pour yourself a pint of Guinness and get ready for a weekend of shamrock shenanigans this St Patrick’s Day.
The traditional Irish celebration has found its way to Kent, with plenty of pubs and venues all over the county throwing a St Paddy’s Day party. Here’s where you can join the festivities over the weekend…
The Four Horseshoes, near Faversham
This village pub just outside of Faversham is known among locals for its carvery lunches. For St Paddy’s Day, there will be a special carvery lunch for visitors to tuck into along with themed drinks and traditional Irish music.

Leyton Cross Social Club, Dartford
The celebration includes an hour of Irish dancing, live music and sing-along songs, all followed by party anthems later in the evening. There will be drinks such as Jameson whiskey and Guinness behind the bar.

Longmead Stadium, Tonbridge
After football team Tonbridge Angels play Torquay United at the stadium in the afternoon, there will be a free St Patrick’s Day party in the marquee. Local band Rock Phoenix will perform and there will be drinks like baby Guinness shots and Baileys and Irish cream to help get the party going.

The Oxford, Margate
Quirky covers duo Bread and Butter are celebrating 20 years of playing together at The Oxford’s St Paddy’s Day bash. The group will be bringing their fancy dress box, party props and a setlist of well-known songs and Irish tunes.

Paddy McGinty's Party Bar, Maidstone
Dig out your emerald wares and raise a pint of Guinness at this shamrock shindig. The bar is a popular party spot and is kicking off St Patrick’s Day early with an extended happy hour, Guinness giveaways and green costumes on Friday. The celebrations continue all weekend - there’s a second party night on Saturday and a themed pub quiz on Sunday.

The Queen Charlotte, Rochester
Violinist Matthew English and singer Tim Springett will reunite for the St Paddy’s Day festivities at the Queen Charlotte pub. The pair will perform music inspired by Irish folk songs and some well-known covers, while behind the bar there will be some special drink offers to mark the occasion.

The Ship Inn, Faversham
The Ship’s restaurant, the Cow Shed, is hosting a weekend of live music from Black Powder, Bamboozle, X5 and Seani Pout. There will also be a meat raffle for Great Ormond Street Hospital and a menu of Irish food and drink specials.

St George’s Church, Folkestone
Enjoy a traditional ceilidh with dance, live music, green outfits and lots of community spirit. The team from Claire Bedrow Dancers will lead the ceilidh and teach you the basics of traditional Irish dance, with no previous dance experience necessary.

St Mary's Irish Social Club, Gillingham
There’s no better place for a St Patrick’s Day knees-up than this Irish social club. There will be music from local band the Medway Rakes, authentic Irish dancers and competitions and raffles throughout the day.
Details: Sunday, March 17 at St Mary’s Irish Social Club in Gillingham from 12 noon. The daytime festivities are free for members, the evening begins from 6pm and costs £5 for members and £7.50 for non-members.
Tokyo Tea Rooms, Canterbury
Put on your dancing shoes and get down to a night of throwback favourites, from cheesy floor-fillers to classic dance anthems and, of course, plenty of hits from your favourite Irish artists. To get into the spirit of things, there will be Irish bowler hats, flags, bunting and green confetti.
