The campaign will also provide advice and tools to parents, carers, schools and communities, to support young people in building their resilience.

Young people from Kent have been central to the development of the campaign, helping to create the brand name, artwork and messaging.

Phase one of the campaign will promote real stories from young people in Kent, in the form of animated illustrations, showing the many ways young people can build resilience.

One story comes from Alex.

When Alex’s dad became ill, he found it difficult to cope.

He found his own way to get through this difficult time by playing sports and listening to music, until he eventually felt comfortable to open up and talk about his feelings.

Alex’s story shows investing time in your talents and interests, such as sports or music, and talking about your emotions, are all opportunities for children to build resilience.

Another story comes from Katie who has lots of friends, at school and at her local horse-riding club.

However, she often has arguments with her friends, which makes her feel down.

Katie copes with these issues by talking to someone she trusts, helping her to understand her emotions and behaviours, and to build resilience.

The campaign is set to run for four weeks on a variety of channels; online, social media, radio, posters in schools and community settings and mobile advertising.
