As Hollywood prepares for the Oscars tonight, there's an anxious wait for two Kent venues who played their part in the making of two nominated films.
The Favourite, which included scenes filmed at Knole in Sevenoaks, and Mary Queen of Scots, which included a pivotal scene shot at Penshurst Place, both feature in the nominations for the 91st Academy Awards.
The Favourite is nominated for Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design and Best Film Editing.
Yorgos Lanthimos is nominated for Best Director and Olivia Colman is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role while Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz who appear alongside her will fight it out for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.
The two films go head to head in the Best Costume Design category while Mary Queen of Scots is also nominated for Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
The Favourite stars Olivia Colman as Queen Anne, who occupies the throne but due to ill health and her mercurial temper, the country is governed by her close friend Lady Sarah Churchill (Rachel Weisz).
It was partially filmed at the National Trust property Knole and has already scooped Olivia Colman a Golden Globe for Best Actress and has 12 nominations for Baftas.
It also comes to the awards fresh from picking up another prize. It won the gong for excellence in period drama at the Costume Designers Guild Awards in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Mary Queen of Scots stars Saoirse Ronan as Mary and Margot Robbie as her cousin Elizabeth I, who eventually signed her death warrant, took place at the historic house acting as Fotheringhay Castle, where Mary was held prisoner. The beheading scene was filmed at 14th century Penshurst Place.
A rare portrait of Mary Queen of Scots went on show to the public at Hever Castle earlier this month.
Other films featuring in the Oscar nominations included Vice, starring Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, Mary Poppins Returns, which stars English actress Emily Blunt, and Bohemian Rhapsody which stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury.
The awards take place from 10pm tonight in the US, and between 1am and 4am our time.
