Musicians from the world of classical, blues and pop will perform a series of intimate concerts in the run up to Christmas.
Rye international jazz and blues festival will stage the concerts in St Mary’s Church, Rye from Friday, December 14 to Sunday, December 16.
On Friday, December 14 the festival presents a festive concert with much-loved singer, recording artist, broadcaster and presenter Aled Jones.
Aled has released more than 30 albums, and sold more than 10 million, with more than 40 Silver, Gold and Platinum Discs. Starting at 12 as a boy soprano with Walking in the Air, the hit song from the animated film, The Snowman, he will be joined by the 16 piece Fidelity International choir and mezzo soprano singer Danielle Thomas, who performed with Russell Watson at last year's festival.
Saturday, December 15 sees Brit and Ivor Novello Award-winning singer and songwriter KT Tunstall perform an intimate solo concert ahead of her 2019 spring UK tour.
She has sold more than seven million albums to date and recently released the single The River, from her sixth studio album WAX. Previous hits have included Black Horse & The Cherry Tree in 2006 and Suddenly I See in 2007. She performed in Kent this summer, with Simple Minds and The Pretenders at the Kent Event Centre.
On Sunday, December 16 Latin singer and guitarist José Feliciano closes the series with a programme of his greatest hits, latest albums and Christmas songs.
Feliciano has been hailed by critics throughout the world as “the greatest living guitarist” and he comes to Rye with his six piece band ahead of performing for the Pope at the Vatican in Rome.
His hits include a cover of Light My Fire, but is best known in the UK for his version of California Dreamin’.
