The musical, starring former X Factor winner Joe McElderry, was the first major collaboration between lyricist Tim Rice and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and has been delighting audiences for more than 50 years.

Singer and theatre star Joe, who first rose to fame after winning ITV music competition in 2009, will be returning to the show for a second time for its current nationwide tour.

He previously appeared as Joseph in the 2017/2018 tour but, this time, he will be taking on the role of Pharoh.

He will be joined on stage by Drama Desk Award nominee Christina Bianco, who recently played Glinda in the Wizard of Oz, as the Narrator and Adam Filipe, who was part of the original West End cast of Prince of Egypt, as Joseph.

The musical began as a concept album by EGOT winner Tim Rice and multi-Olivier Award-winning composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.

It began as a concept album, released in 1971, and made its West End debut in 1973. It has since been nominated for multiple Tony and Olivier awards.

The story follows the character of Joseph from the Bible's Book of Genesis in a musical retelling, featuring numbers such as Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury from Wednesday, January 22 to Sunday, February 2. You can book tickets online here.
