The young winners of a special storywriting competition to mark Leeds Castle's 900th anniversary are set to be announced.
Open to children across the county in age categories five to nine and 10 to 13, young storytellers were asked to write a short story of up to 900 words with castles and time travel in it, to mark the castle's anniversary celebrations throughout this year.
The two winners of Lees Castle Big 900 - who get a hamper, an overnight stay at the castle's glamping site, a tour of the castle and tickets to the fireworks spectacular in November - will be announced by TV presenter and author Clare Balding on Thursday, May 30.

The event is part of a series of events marking the landmark for the castle, which have already seen the opening of an adventure golf centre, a knights' stronghold play area, and will soon include changes to the gardens, including patron Princess Alexandra opening the woodland gardens the Princess Alexandra Gardens on Tuesday, June 25, part of a five-year garden project.
The castle has also launched its own limited edition gin, and been featured on the front of Kent Crisps.
The summer highlights will include a specially commissioned fanfare to be unveiled at the Classical Concert on Saturday, July 13 and a carnival weekend on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28.
