A patient dog has been waiting nearly eight months for a new home and staff at the trust say they are baffled that he hasn’t found one yet.
Burt, a seven-year-old Akita, arrived at the Dogs Trust Canterbury earlier in the year and is a ‘huge softie’ and ‘loving dog’.
Rehoming centre manager, Harriet Blaskett says she is very surprised that Burt is yet to find a new home.
She said: “He adores people and is never happier than when he’s playing with his favourite toys or nibbling on a tasty treat.”
Staff at the Dogs Trust Canterbury have nicknamed him Hachiko or Hachi as he has a striking resemblance to the well-known Japanese Akita who waited 11 years for his owner to return.
They hope he will be given the chance to be part of a family soon.
Burt can live with children aged 10 and over and would ideally like new owners to be around for most of the day .
If you think you could be Burt’s special someone, call 01227 792505 or visit the trust at Radfull Road, Chestfield.
