Appeal for dashcam footage after teenager died on Thanet Way between Faversham and Whitstable

Police have renewed their appeal for dashcam footage after a fatal accident in which a teenage driver collided with a tree.

The crash happened on the A299 Thanet Way, between Brenley Corner roundabout at Faversham and Whitstable on Sunday, November 6.

The 18-year-old man, who was driving a blue Kia Rio, veered off the dual carriageway travelling coast-bound and crashed into a tree.

The driver, from Whitstable, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital where he sadly died.

The time of the collision has not been confirmed but the car was seen on its side just before 8.20pm on that day.

Police are carrying out enquiries and officers are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

Investigators are specifically asking motorists with dashcam, who were travelling on the A299 Thanet Way between 7.50pm and 8.25pm on Sunday, November 6, to check for footage that may help.
