Patrick Hughes who was missing from Tankerton has been found safe

A man reported missing has been found.

Patrick Hughes was last seen at about 9am in the St Anne’s Road area of Tankerton, near Whitstable.

Police issued an appeal to help trace the 76-year-old yesterday.

They said Mr Hughes is known to have connections to Herne Bay, Whitstable and Canterbury.

Police believe he visited a coffee shop in St Peter’s Street, Canterbury.

Police were growing concerned for his welfare and are asking people to check their outbuildings.

The force has now confirmed Mr Hughes has been “safely located”.

A spokesperson said: “Officers would like to thank all those who assisted with their enquiries and shared the appeal.”
